Physical Description: Dezi is a physically frail, short and underweight boy. He often has dark circles and bags under his brown eyes due to chronic sleeplessness. His black hair is unkempt and frizzy. Dezi's pale skin bruises easily and he tires quickly. There are several laceration scars on the left side of his torso.

Mental Description: Dezi is seen as a disturbed person who has been afflicted with delusions caused by the grief of losing his sister in a car accident as a child. He claims to see, hear and even feel his sister as if she were still by his side and has had several violent outbursts towards people who told him otherwise. He can often be seen carrying out one side of full conversations with these hallucinations he believes to be the dead. Dezi is, in fact, telling the truth when he makes these claims. No one has ever truly believed him no matter how hard he fought to show him, and it is because of the frustration of being considered crazy or ill that he willingly became an outcast. He prefers the company of his sister's spirit, and other wandering undead. 

Background: When Dezi was a child (age 7) he and Lissa (age 8) were victims of a catastrophic car accident involving a driver under the influence. The high speed side collision resulted in the death of young Lissa on impact but the rest of the family survived with minor to severe injuries. When Dezi was released from the hospital he continued his life as if Lissa hadn't died at all, he spoke to her and played with her despite the fact that she was gone. The accident had been such a traumatic event that everyone had assumed this was a method of coping for the young Dezi, and even his grieving parents played along for a while. The seriousness of the situation became apparent only years later, when Dezi's parents suggested they turn Lissa's old unused bedroom into a home office and Dezi became angry and lashed out at his parents demanding they leave her room alone. Dezi started therapy and was put on multiple different medications but maintained that his sister was still there with him, and any attempts to convince him of her death were unsuccessful. 

    At the age of 17 Dezi has now accepted that his sister is dead but hasn't changed his behavior of speaking to her as if she wasn't. By now he has realized his gift for seeing the dead but makes no attempt to tell anyone because he knows that no one will believe him. His physical health has declined steadily over the last decade. His skin is pale, no matter how much sleep he gets he's constantly tired, no matter how much he eats he's always hungry. Doctors believe that his declining health is tied to his delusions but they are only partly right. Dezi's condition is directly caused by the presence of his sister's spirit, who he has allowed to feed on him in order to manifest for ten years. And while he is well aware that this parasitic-like relationship with his sister has caused him to become weak, Lissa remains blissfully unaware of her effect on him.
